This distinctive ensemble is part of the award-winning collection by Vanshika Jain, recipient of the “Most Innovative Design Collection” award at the Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), New Delhi for the 2021–2025 cohort. The collection reflects an experimental design philosophy inspired by ideas of perspective, distortion, and deconstruction, where traditional garment structures are reinterpreted into dynamic contemporary forms. By blending art-inspired concepts with fashion construction, the designer transforms classic silhouettes into visually engaging pieces that challenge conventional symmetry and tailoring.
The outfit features an asymmetrical jacket paired with relaxed trousers, both crafted with contrasting black and white striped panels arranged in varying directions to create movement and optical intrigue. The jacket’s unconventional paneling, off-center construction, and layered elements produce a sculptural look, while the unexpected yellow striped pocket at the back adds a striking accent.
